BRIEF
With roots tracing back to the Diethelm Keller Group’s founding in the 1860s, DK Household Brands represents over a century of expertise in brand building and household innovation. The company needed a comprehensive catalogue system that unified five unique brands — Zyliss, Scanpan, AdHoc, Cole & Mason, and Ken Hom — into a single cohesive publication. The challenge was to maintain each brand’s distinct identity while ensuring a consistent structure and seamless experience for sales teams and customers.
SOLUTION
I developed a flexible design system that balanced consistency and individuality across all five brands. After defining key information standards for pricing, SKUs, barcodes, and product details, I built a unified framework to ensure clarity and usability throughout the catalogue.
Each brand section was then tailored to its visual identity:
-
Zyliss embraced Swiss design principles — open layouts, clean lines, and vibrant accents reflecting its product colorways.
-
Cole & Mason used a dark, sophisticated palette and generous spacing to convey its refined, high-end British character.
-
Scanpan featured clear introductory pages to differentiate its many product lines at a glance.
-
Ken Hom highlighted its trusted founder through storytelling and detailed product information.
-
AdHoc incorporated feature bars that quickly communicated key product highlights, aiding consumer understanding.
The final result was a six-chapter catalogue that delivered a clear, intuitive experience, allowing sales teams to access information effortlessly while each brand retained its unique visual and emotional presence. The project emphasized strategic design thinking, brand understanding, and the ability to harmonize multiple identities within a single, cohesive system.
